Workshops
Niña is a co-founder of Writer’s Block Philippines, a new organization that hopes to inspire other Filipino writers be more effective (and profitable!) communicators. As a group, Writer’s Block Philippines believes that writing is both art and craft, both creative and methodical, a form of expression and a discipline. Writing itself is only one aspect of “writing”; a culmination of other processes that make it easier for you to write your piece.
Its formation was inspired by Niña’s flagship course, Freelance Writing for Dummies, a hands-on workshop that took participants through the ins and the outs, the highs and the lows of freelance writing.
Join Writer’s Block Philippines on its first summer workshop, “Jumpstart Your Freelance Writing Career“, which will be held on APRIL 24 to 25, 2010 at POWERBOOKS GREENBELT 4, MAKATI CITY, PHILIPPINES. Click HERE to reserve a slot to this event.
In March 2009, Niña also conducted the much-publicized Surreality workshop, together with “soul sisters” Carissa Villacorta and JV Wong. The workshop was based on the widely acclaimed book of the same name, by multi-awarded author Carissa Villacorta. It took participants through the process of believing, beginning, and becoming. A second run of the workshop is in the works, as well as media extensions on radio and TV.
Aside from all these, Niña is a frequent speaker at youth forums on leadership, communications, and blogging and social media.
